- Milk thistle
- Milk thistle (Silybum marianum (L.) Gaert.) is the yearling plant from family asteraceae which occurs in moderate belt of northern hemisphere from Middle East through Balkan up to Western Europe. The part of interest of this plant is the seed (achenocarp). Since the huge quantities of Milk thistle seed is needed for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and nutrition purposes the field cultivation of this plant is necessary. All these activities from seeds selection prior to seeding up to post-harvesting crop processing are performed under the special rules conforming to “Good agricultural practice” (GAP) and “Good manufacture practice” (GMP).
- Moldavian dragonhead
- Moldavian dragonhead (Dracocephalum moldavica L.) is the yearling plant from family lamiaceae which occurs in moderate belt of northern hemisphere from Black sea area through Balkan up to middle Europe. The part of interest of this plant is the seed (a non-dehiscent dry fruit). Although Moldavian dragonhead flowering plant (the aerial part) has been used for centuries for the purposes of volatile essential oil isolation the utilization of the seed for fatty oil isolation is quite new. Due to demand of high amounts of Moldavian dragonhead seed it was necessary to established the field production of this plant. All these activities from seeds selection prior to seeding up to post-harvesting crop processing are performed under the special rules conforming to “Good agricultural practice” (GAP) and “Good manufacture practice” (GMP).
